The title of this post has more than one meaning. First, it has everything to do with keeping up with the times in terms of technology. The way our technological world is evolving and constantly changing right before our very eyes, it is important to keep up with it. A blog such as this one is an emerging technology that has quickly become an internet phenomenon. But what can we do with a blog when it relates to classroom curriculum? How can a blog be used to tie together what you as students learn in the science classroom to what's actually happening in the world around you?
This is where the second meaning for this post's title comes in: The New York Science Times. This is just one great way to have you use the science we've been learning in class and apply it to real-world events. For example, you could look at current events in the science world online via the NY Science Times and discuss them through blog posts such as this. In this way, you are able to make connections as to why what you're learning in school is relevant.
We will be utilizing this blog in various ways throughout the school year, so get familiar with it and get ready to start posting!
